Long Way Downhill
Our friend Mike Downing lost his son Anthony in Afghanistan on the 22nd December 2011 and asked me to put his other son 's blog link on this forum. I feel greatly honoured to do so

Re: Long way downhill from Mike Downing's son
Hello Mike,
I've read part of the report of your son's bicycle trip from Scotland to Land'End in Cornwall.
He's been very brave and I'm sure you are very proud of him. 880 miles through UK' hills and showers, this is really wonderful.
I enjoyed reading the report, it was well written, the way he put things together has impressed me !
But the main thing is that he made it ! Well done !
Congratulations

Last Friday (Friday 13rd march 2015) Mike and his wife were invited to London to take part in the Afghan Commemoration, being parents of Anthony Downing killed on 23/12/11. This link is a newspaper & photographic record of the event.
