Hi Guilaine,
to cook has got several meanings:
(transitive)
- faire cuire
- trafiquer
- gâcher
(intransitive)
- cuisiner, faire la cuisine
- cuire
- se mijoter
I cannot see any comma to help.
You are not stupid but you possibly lack training (Café polyglotte sur le Net training) and aren't used to my stupid posts any longer.Guilaine a écrit:Hi Gérard !

I would personally like onteen one tho this number is usually "irregular" in many languages.11 : onety-one ? I rather think of tenty-one, no ?
You can understand U=you but also U=U-letter as provided on the pictureSend me a pic of U ????????????
You have 2 alternatives for "date": write the limit of date (for sale), or go out with. Please remember to date the food cans ???????????
I'm still trying to figure out what the pun is...I like cooking my family and my pets ??????????????? Is only a comma missing ? Where????????????????

Re: Internet English Resources by Grammarly.com
Thank you for answering to my stupid questions about your stupid posts...
Indeed I'll try to be more regular with the cafe-polyglotte.com training, but please help me not to become more stupid. I take it for granted that Gérard is great and has plenty to teach me, so everytime I read one of his jokes I try hard to get the point.
Don't put me off.
By the way, I didn't get the last joke either ! Congratulations = pronounced Congradulations, may be it ?

Guilaine,
These pictures are not mine.
They are published by an organization named Grammarly.com.
As you can guess, they want to promote good English and denounce mistakes made by English speaking people.
They don't teach foreigners but natives.
There are several kinds of puns and they usually have a mark showing this category.
> By the way, I didn't get the last joke either ! Congratulations = pronounced Congradulations, may be it ?
Yes, you got it.
In the past, some Americans were pronouncing Congradulations.
Then, lazzy Americans preferred the "d"; Australians adopted the "d"; Young Brits -trying to look like Americans- as well; snob Frenchmen as well...
Grammarly.com doesn't like this and the picture denounces the mistake as many English speaking people now don't know the spelling!
Instead of being straight, they prefer to say with a smile: "There's no "D" in Congratulations."
