Can fashion ever be truly sustainable? | The Independent

The fashion industry is responsible for an estimated 10% of humanity’s carbon emissions and has the fifth largest carbon footprint of any industry, according to the World Economic Forum.
Consumers are increasingly aware of the climate impact of clothes, particularly cheap fast fashion, and brands are making changes for the better.
But is it enough? Will fashion houses ever stop feeding our voracious appetite for closets filled with throwaway garments?

Here are 5 ways to find a solution
          1 :Buy better brands : clothes that use natural fibres, ecologically produced and ethically made
          2 :spend more less often : good quality clothing can last a life time
          3 :buy second hand :  of cours buying second hand clothes is a very good choice
          4 :support local creators : think of the carbon cost and th probability of your clothe being made by exploited labour
          5: discover upcycling : turn unwanted clothes into totally new creations;

To my mind, it is going to be an obsolete problem. Because, with global warming, we will be forced to live completely nude. But many people will be on the dole...
