Is It Worth Helping Foreign Peoples? Empty Is It Worth Helping Foreign Peoples?

Hi everyone,

"Youth must have its fling".
It's very difficult to convince people, it's better to experience by oneself, if not necessary. Sometimes we can't even understand till we haven't tried, and made the mistake. A baby won't really understand till they burn themselves, right?
Do you agree?

To my mind, peoples are evolving as well, and evolving in a similar way to individuals, step by step.
Do you agree?

We, Westerners, make wars here and there to "help" people reach democraty... scratch Tunisia, Egypt, Lybia, Syria, Mali, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc. lots of countries
Is it worth helping?
Do you think people can go any faster that a "standard" speed?
I was told the Shah of Iran was thrown out of power because he wanted his people to go ahead by several centuries, too fast! Religious leaders managed easily to win people over, because people were not ready.
Don't you think people have to go through specific steps to evolve, like teenagers must do?

Do you think it's worth making wars to help peoples?

If we force people who are not ready, they won't understand what our democracy is and they will charge us for colonialism, for imperialism, and the like.
I mean not only helping them might be useless but it might eventually turn against us.

Hi Muriel, hi everyone,

gerardM a écrit:... Ce soir, je compte lancer un sujet (en langue anglaise) sur l'évolution des sociétés.
Muriel, that's what I had in mind when I was writing these words in the afternoon ( https://www.cafe-polyglotte.com/t2001-l-art-de-prendre-le-pli#8379 ).

Hi Muriel, everyone,

I thought it better to open the topic in English so that:
- we can exercise our English language
- for such a risky subject, it may be better to get focused on English and not on the fundamentals.
