A town for the deaf
American people want to build a town for deaf or hard of hearing people where the language spoken would be "sign language".
: Teachers in the new school will sign, restaurant workers will be required to know how to sign orders etc.
They think that nothing much is done for those who can't hear. The Deaf want to live all by themselves. and promote their own culture.
Is it a good idea ?
"I understand the désire to be round people like ourselves but I don't think it's very Wise" says Todd Houston , executive director of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of hearing in Washington.

There is a question I would like to also ask. Is it Wise to have the old living together, the dead or the disabled living together ?Is n't it better when there is contact which provides benefit to everyone?

Hi Muriel, hi everyone,
> American people want to build a town for dead
Oh yes, there are so many words which are very close from one another
I second Todd Houston in saying it's not a good idea to create a kind of ghetto.
However, it's very hard to integrate people who are different.
I don't have anything against disable people but I'm not very happy to have purchased an apartment in a building obeing the latest norms ie with "everything" ready for wheel-chairs: too wide hallways and doors, huge toilet, huge bathroom, and elevator, and entrance... as if 100% of the population was about to become disable.

Re: A town for the deaf
Anyway, like Gérard, I understand that it is not easy (It is very expensive) to obey the rules. These rules will be compulsory in 2015 for all office practices.
