informations about the TER VER 2-3-4 août 2013 opération
Hello everybody
Monday 22 July will begin the sale of the tickets of the only TER VER week-endo of this summer available for Friday 2, Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 august. For only 1 euro ( with the "Grand'TER Card" which costs only 5 euros ( instead of 7) in summer, you will be able to travel from Boulogne or Calais ( from the sea ) to Aulnoye, Maubeuge or Fourmies ( i. e. the country : TER-VER), or Saint-Omer. You are supposed to come back the same day except if you wish to attend the special "nuits secrêtes" of the festival in Aulnoye, you can come back the day after...One booklet about this from now on famous summer operation is available in the railways stations. Take care because the number of tickets available are limited and tickets are sold only in the railways stations along and toward the destinations (and not in Calais Frethun , even if you can take a train from this railway station) .
If you are not used to take the "TER" trains that's a good opportunity to test them for almost nothing . This operation is funded by Conseil Général of Nord Pas-de-Calais, good initiative according my opinion !

Hi Jean-Pierre,
Thank you very much for joining the gang.
I'm not living in Calais nor the north of France and won't be able to have the opportunity to follow your advice but it's very good news.
I assume VER is an acronym? What does it stand for?
Why did you post about it? Are you a member of the Conseil Regional? of SNCF? of the Tourim Office? simply do you like your region?
First of all, you're welcome to the Café polyglotte sur le Net!JeanPierreD Messages: 1

Hi Gérard,
Sorry , i should have explained more properly and be more explicit, otherwise one could think i'm member of Conseil général ( trying to make adverts for it, which is not allowed on this site), sncf or tourism office staff and i'm none of these, but i'have noticed that we have a lot of opportunities, everyday everywhere and all along the year that enable to do different thing with very little money or even no money at all, today it's travelling for free or almost free .
Yes. TER is an acronym, i don't know exactly for what it stands for, T stands for Train, R stands for Regional, but i don't know what E stands for.
And yes i definitely love my country and this area ( Calais and this coastal part of France) , but i'm sure i should be as fond of anywhere else !

Last information , E stands for express, which was easy to find , but not for me until i found this information in french : " TER signifie Trains Express Régionaux. TER est une marque de la SNCF créée en 1984 qui exploite les transports ferroviaires au niveau régional."

Hi Jean-Pierre,
Thanks for your message.
No worries about "i should have explained more properly and be more explicit"... had you been more explicit, I would have asked other questions
> I assume VER is an acronym? What does it stand for?
My question was about VER.
Thanks for your message.

Hi Gérard ! Jean-Pierre !
Some patients from Bray dunes told my husband that last year it was great because people went to Bray dunes by train and came back by car
Not so nice for the Bray dunes people because when they had gone they could not find their cars
