Hi everyone,

As I wrote it at the beginning of the present year, 2013 will be Under the motto of Discovery for "The National Geographic".

There's Still So Much to Discover
Some argue that as our world gets smaller, the time of discovery has come and gone. But we know that we’re part of a new age of exploration. This week, we’re uncovering ancient Maya burial grounds, mysterious "picket fences," and the secrets behind the world’s happiest places.

Who says there’s nothing left to find?

"Picket Fence" Baffles Scientists
What kind of creature could create these mysterious objects in the Amazon, and for what purpose?

Thanks for your answers and comments.

This post rings a bell for me. The New Frontier from john Kennedy
http://infinite-frontier.blogspot.fr/2009/02/kennedys-new-frontier-speech.html

Beyond that frontier are uncharted areas of science and space, unsolved problems of peace and war, unconquered problems of ignorance and prejudice, unanswered questions of poverty and surplus. It would be easier to shrink from that new frontier, to look to the safe mediocrity of the past, to be lulled by good intentions and high rhetoric...

Hi Muriel, hi everyone,

First I must say that all of my examples are taken from The National Geographic i.e. for the photos I post, I have to give credit to this Society.
I also advise to read this magazine in American language: the level is high, many foreigners learn American thru this magazine. In addition, the photos and the articles are truly wonderful.

Muriel,

Indeed!

When I read an article in the National Geographic, there's always a high rate of unknown words.
