Hardest language to learn
Hi everyone,
Blog "Citizens of the world"
What is the Hardest language to learn?
1.Extremely Hard: The hardest language to learn is: Polish
2.Very Hard: Finnish, Hungarian, and Estonian
3.Simply Arduous: Ukrainian and Russian
4.Challenging contender jockey for position: Arabic
5.Fairly Hard: Chinese and Japanese
6.Average: French German
7.Easy: Spanish and Italian
8.Basic to hard: English
English at the basic level is easy but to speak it like a native it’s hard because of the dynamic idiomatic nature.
Formula for difficulty in a language = O*(G+V+(w*.1)+(A*2.0)+S+V(1.5))
Read the article to know why, to know about the arguments: very exciting indeed!

Re: Hardest language to learn
Hi Muriel,
Thanks for asking!
I forgot to give the link! I just repaired the mistake and added German as "Average".
I'm surprised to read "Basic to hard" regarding Englis!
The arguments are the same for any language: it's easy to get the bases, it's difficult to be fluent!

Yes you are right and all the more so when you learn several languages at the same time. You never feel satisfied with yourself.gerardM a écrit:The arguments are the same for any language: it's easy to get the bases, it's difficult to be fluent!
By the way, do you know the polyglot definition ?Mind you, it's a joke.
it is somebody who speaks badly many languages.

Re: Hardest language to learn
Of course it's a joke because everyone knows that when you are bilingual it's easier to learn a second language and when you are trilingual easier to learn a fourth one and so on and so forth.
