What is internet activism ?
Internet activism (also known as online activism, digital campaigning, digital activism, online organizing, electronic advocacy, cyberactivism, e-campaigning and e-activism) is the use of electronic communication technologies such as social media, especially Twitter and Facebook, YouTube, e-mail, and podcasts for various forms of activism to enable faster communications by citizen movements and the delivery of local information to a large audience. Internet technologies are used for cause-related fundraising, community building, lobbying, and organizing.

http://www.change.org/fr launched  in Britain by US just over a year ago works wonders. The English are now using internet activism and its impact on local political life is fabulous.

Change.org is a website operated by Change.org, Inc., an American certified B Corporation[1] incorporated in Delaware that provides a free petition tool for 45 million users [2] and hosts sponsored campaigns for organizations.
Nonprofits and political campaigns, including Amnesty International and the Humane Society, pay the site to host their petitions.[3] Change.org's stated mission is to "empower people everywhere to create the change they want to see."[4] In addition, "millions of people sign petitions on Change.org each month on thousands of issues, winning campaigns every day to advance change locally and globally." Popular topics of Change.org petitions are economic and criminal justice, human rights, education, the environment, animals, health, and sustainable food.
Hi everyone !
Just have a look at http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Change.org

yes you can make it, you can change the world thanks to petitions on change.org. sometimes people who  have been fighting unsuccessfully for a court order start a petition on change. org. When the cause is a matter of interest  they get over
many thousands of signatures and that makes the council back down. Change.org launched in the UK just over a year ago is a revolution in the way activists campaign and it works
Do you know about it ?

Hi Muriel,

Thanks for this subject.
I should know about one or two such web organizations but I don't have their names in mind... what about Avaaz or Avazz? and at least another one.
This kind of sites is very important as they change the world: powerless but frustrated people have the opportunity to write, to complain, to find other people involved, and to get much power... even against a government or a tyrant.

Thanks!.

Hi Muriel,
MurielB a écrit:... Just have look at...
Hm, I frawned reading this.
I understand what you mean.
I don't know if it's a typo or if you wrote this intentionally.

Most of the time, many forms are acceptable especially when it makes things simpler but...

To me "Just have look at" is not correct, surely because it doesn't simplify anything.
I asked an Australian friend Wink and she agrees with me saying she wouldn't have said this.

OK for:
- just have a look at
- just look at
- just have looked at
- etc.

Now it might just be a typo Laughing

Yes Gérard and it is not the first time. I have already written "Just have look at" and you mentioned it. I must be more careful. Thank you for that.
