En-crane or Fr-grue: who's right?
Hi everyone,
> En-crane or Fr-grue: who's right?
Of course, we cann't say who is right (between English or French people) but this is an opportunity to discuss a bit about these words.
As a French person, I noticed we had the same word for a machine and a bird: OK, what's up then?
I didn't even realize that the name "grue" was given to the machine because of its shape...

Now if you really want to know who is right,
Is "Gruidae" closer to "Crane" or to "Grue"?
Make your own decision.
Take care
