Gerard I don't know if a French person would write this. I only know that it is important to determine in which fields you can trust such or such person. It is important to see for yourself what they are good at. For instance I would trust somebody for their cooking skills, their language skills or whatever skills they have. Nobody is perfect and there are always interesting aspects in each person.
Anyway I would not do business with a dishonest person.

I wrote this thinking of teh difference beween English and French persons.
The French are very serious and many would find it useless or ridiculous.
"We don't know them" U "You know them" = the whole ie 100% of cases = always.

The French are very logical... often too much!

Gérard  Our emotional intelligence determines how we think, react and make decisions. People who use their heart to think tend to make more intuitive decisions while those who use their head tend to make more logical decisions. I think it is important to use both :  heart  and head. It's true that the French tend to be more logical,  the Anglo-Saxon more pragmatic , the Spanish more spontaneous, the German more rigorous etc.   but we can learn a lot from one another can't we ? That's the reason why polyglotism is so important
