Gérard, "bullshit" is a word I don't use much so I checked it out on the internet
Bullshit (also bullcrap) is a common English expletive which may be shortened to the euphemism bull or the initialism BS. In British English, "bollocks" is a comparable expletive, although "bullshit" is more common. It is mostly a slang profanity term meaning "nonsense",

Gérard this is a very interesting grammar stuctureThe longer you hold on, the more dumb you become
http://www.englishgrammar.org/thethe-comparative-adjectives/
Comparison and contrast are expressed by the use of the…the… with comparative adjectives in parallel clauses. This structure is used to show proportionate increase or decrease.
Structure: the + comparative adjective + clause + the + comparative adjective + clause
- The more adventurous it is, the more I like it. (NOT The more it is adventurous, the more I like it.)

Hi Muriel,
dumb numb you become
LOL
You changed the meaning of the sentence.
> The more adventurous it is, the more I like it. (NOT The more it is adventurous, the more I like it.)
As you state it, the structure is not the same in English and in French.
Which is the most "natural" do you think? Is it better to have "the more" close to the adjective or separated?
Another difference: the French correct expression is "plus... plus/mieux" but I know of French regions where they say "Le plus... le plus/mieux" or "au plus... au plus/mieux"
