To begin with, when people want to change their lives, they absolutel have to change their behavior (same behavior leads to same result).
Referring to tennis, I remember advice to players (advice is permitted during team competitions only) when they are severely led. the coach says: "change anything in your game" (this advice comes after several specialized attempts); when things look lost, the player tries to provide high balls on the forehand, on the backhand), or short balls, or gets the opponent to run on the left, on the right, forward, etc till they detct something the opponent doesn't master.

We can't change the world and we can't counter those we act poorly. We can just try to protect our loved ones !
