Pardon my Spanglish
Not quite English, not quite Spanish pero me gusta very much el Spanglish !

Sometimes Spanish words sound better. Code-switching is part of the fun !

Re: Pardon my Spanglish
Spanish words sound better than the English ones. People speak English but they flavor it or season it if you like, with Spanish terms. People minds work that way and it is fun and very lively. Now Spanglish TV "goes on air" is perhaps no better place to see how Spanglish is used.
« Welcome back to Mex 2 the Mex. Que pasa calabasa ? »The use of two languages reflects the upbringing of the TV employees and the studio audiences which are full of hispanic teenagers from all over Los Angeles.

Spanish can be heard on the streets of almost any major American city these days, as Hispanic immigrants mingle with the English-speaking majority.
But an increasing number, particularly children who've been through US schools, are bilingual. Very often they switch between languages within a single sentence, or borrow English words and put them into Spanish, making a hybrid known as Spanglish.
This group is now too big for media organisations and advertisers to ignore. New ways of broadcasting and marketing products are being developed to target them.

Hi everyone
It is true that when they come from a mexican background, when their parents don't speak English "a fuerzas tienen que aprender Español". Sometimes, of course, spanish words sound better (For instance the word "ansioso"expresses better their feelings than "anxious") That new language attracts media organisations and advertisers because it is young and spontaneous.
