Government starts £5k electric car grant

The Plug-In Car Grant opened today
The £5,000 Government Plug-In Car Grant for ultra-low CO2 cars is now available, with the first nine eligible cars being revealed.

£5K off the list price of eligible cars
The grants offers up to £5,000 off the list price of a car emitting less than 75g/km CO2. It goes live on 1 January 2011 – and of the nine cars on the list, three will be available right away.

My attention was drawn by a few words in the magazine "Sciences et Avenir".
I like this article from Which.co.uk about the Government helping people buy electric cars under 75 g/km CO2.
By the way, I didn't know the unit used in the UK was g/km... congrats to them!
From Jan.1, £5,000! Gosh that's amazing!! 75 g/km that's impressive (normal for electricity - I purchased a car and was proud of my 105 g/km CO2)!

9 cars (2 hybrid + 5 electric cars) including the Peugeot iOn and the Citroën C-zero.

11,000 charging points around London and in the North East of England!
