ell has responded to pissed-off users about the cat-pee odors coming from their new Dell 6430u laptops. So that's what the "u" stands for

Pissed-off Dell laptop owners seek answer to cat-pee odors
Months of complaints about the smell of cat pee emanating from new Dell 6430u laptops cap off with an official response to the stinky problem.
You know that new-computer smell, the scent of Styrofoam packing materials, ink on instruction books, and fresh plastic. Buyers of Dell's Latitude 6430u ultrabook have been complaining for months about a more odoriferous issue with their new machines, along the lines of eau de cat piss.
The hub for complaints is a Dell tech support discussion titled "New 6430u smells awful." It contains a veritable bouquet of descriptive missives, including, "The machine is great, but it smells as if it was assembled near a tomcat's litter box."

for those who want to know more about "Piss off" in American and british English
In British English the expression means drunk while in American English it means angry, annoyed or upset. As a matter of fact, this can sometimes lead to confusion when Americans are talking to British people using the same expression and intenting to express different things.

Re: Funny Pics / Funny Stories
Hi Muriel,
The text I copied is American. However they use this expression as a pun because it's close to urine.
~~
By the way, after thorough investigations, the conclusions are that Dell computers really smelt urine
You're right though there are other meanings in American - you mainly spoke about "pissed off" as an adjective or a past participle. The active verb itself rather means to go away, or to hassle.MurielB a écrit:In British English the expression means drunk while in American English it means angry, annoyed or upset. > confusion when Americans are talking to British people
I repeat American and British English have to be considered as 2 different languages because there are too many differences and lots of misinterpretations.
A problem is that British youngsters are learning American and trying to speak it sometimes leads to a mess.
I'd say there are more differences than between Canadian French and French from France.
