Re: Happy Halloween everyone!
Thank You Gérard, happy Halloween everyone.
Fortunately I have plenty of sweets since a lot of little witches, ghosts, skeletons rang at my door and begged for candy all night.
<What's in there ? I suppose that the pumpkin is filled with sweets.

Muriel,
Do you keep your candies in a pumpkin?
Sadly, given the numerous security gates, they won't be able to access the door of my apartment.

The child is so pleased to put his hand into the pumpkin that I suppose there are candies in there.

Indeed!
In fact, it's the photo of the grandson of a friend of mine. I tried to cut the top to prevent people from recognizing.
As he is the grandson, he doesn't need to wear any Halloween clothes and I guess he even anticipated the date!

Muriel,
I assume that In Calais, given your love for polyglotism, all of the kids go to your home certain you will respect this American tradition.
I guess kids come from 100 kilometers LOL
Quite impossible in my region to get candies in this occasion!MurielB a écrit:... I am sorry for the children who live round your apartment but I am sure they will find another place to ask for candy.

Re: Happy Halloween everyone!
At my village, when children ring the bell, I give them candies only if they are disguised into scary beings.
On the other hand, my neighbours'dog gets nothing, given that, even when I give her some cheese, she keeps on barking towards me with an angry face ! What is the link with halloween ? none...

Hi Remy
Your neighbour's dog keeps barking on you when you give her some cheese because she wants candies like the children doesn't she ?

You are right, the reason is that Calais is not far from England. My daughter(who lives in Paris) told me on the phone this morning that she didn't see any children begging for candy.

Re: Happy Halloween everyone!
I read news from Susan this morning.
She got 2 rings. A friend advised her to buy candies she likes herself, she responded it was very difficult to find Halloween candies without GMOs.
(I must add that the weather is presently bloody cold in her State)

Re: Happy Halloween everyone!
I confess I didn't give natural candies this year because I didn't buy them in advance on the net. Any way it is possible to have them through this store. I will remember next year. what about you ?

Re: Happy Halloween everyone!
No children rang at my door. My residence is too well protected.
The residence is quite new: there are babies, there are a few Under-10s, a few teenagers but no "social life" in the residence, and as I wrote it, we cannot see any Halloween clothes in the region.
Re my candies, I'll be very good at eating them all

Muriel,
Thanks for the collection of words: Halloween has got a good side too: day-to-day vocabulary and American culture.
