I had to look up the expression in the dictionary. I did n't know that to work out meant to practice gymnastics.

Good Muriel! New word learned.
However...
> I did n't know that to work out meant to practice gymnastics.
Are you sure?
"To work out" has got several meanings, of which to train but afaIk not exactly to practice gym.
We must not confuse between workout (noun, one word) and work out (phrasal verb, verb+particle): they are completely different.

Yes it is important to specify that to work out (verb) and workout (noun) are different
OK training is betterBritish English: A workout is a period of physical exercise or training.for instance : give your upper body a workout by using handweights.

Okay Muriel,
So a workout is more general than to practice gym, it's anything that permits good physical condition (Fr "remise en forme").

Re: Internet English Resources 3 on EnglishIsFun (Facebook)
I already posted this somwhere.
I do it again as it is important.
That's mean that you build your own happyness, your attitude in front of everyday's life.
There're lots of little choices that you can repeat or not.
On the other hand, you may make a poor choice some day but you can do better in the near future.

Re: Internet English Resources 3 on EnglishIsFun (Facebook)
Note the concision of the sentence:
Name 3 things you cannot live without.
Nommez 3 choses sans lesquelles vous ne pouvez pas vivre.
I guess "Nommez 3 choses sans lesquelles vous ne pouvez pas vivre." is correct.
"Nommez 3 choses sans lesquelles vous ne pouvez vivre." is also correct but a bit poshy.
