Reading les deux côtés de La sleeve
In Hastings we just happen to have a few writers and editors, as well as a lot of people who like reading in the "other" language, in our 2 overlapping organisations Crossborder and Hastings Polyglotte.
So we thought we ought to kill a few birds with the same stone by trying to bring together French people who'd like to read more in English AND to chat with English people who want to read more in French WITH English people who want to ..........etc vice versa!
So we're going to go to Calais on SATURDAY October 30th to set up, hopefully, more formally, this thingy which hasn't yet got a name.
Following the events in Chile we might want to choose books in French somewhere between Zola's "Germinal" and Marie-Paul Armad's "La pouissière des Corons" ?? Or not.
If you can't get to Calais in a fortnight give me a bell ( 01424 203735 // 078-01358090 // or send me an email crossborder.email@gmail.com...... Bees at the zoo YannS

Your visit on the 30th October about exchanging on French/English reading
Your idea was warmly welcome yesterday among participants in the English table of our Polyglot Café. Although I personally won't be able to attend on Saturday, 30th October (half-term holiday), I feel interested in joining in the Reading Group. ZOLA's "Germinal" is a Must in French literature, but I don't know about "La Poussière des Corons", which may indeed actually refer to the recent event in Chile.
Who is attending is still to determine within our Group. Before crossing the Channel (or whatever you call it : sleeve, round, etc...) make sure someone is meeting you on that day, or else you'll have to change the date.
