As all the people and computers on our planet get more and more closely connected, it's becoming increasingly useful to think of all the people and computers on the planet as a kind of global brain.

I rather think the trend is for one person to get the whole power and knowledge.

I feel there are 2 directions, a good one and a bad one. Love is a good direction and hatred a bad one for instance.
The trend  for one person to get the whole power and knowledge is a bad direction and the good one is collective intelligence enabled by the Internet. In medecine and all kinds of science for instance, scientists can communicate and join their dicoveries to improve the world we live in.
