Muriel, you may be right.

I hadn't understood this way just thinking it meant a catastrophe was only a big event and it was always possible to move on to another kind of life, probably better than the previous one.
In other words, never be desperate.

What I meant is: never be desperate, it's never the end of times: there's always a possible rebound.
