In French it would be "Mieux vaut réussir sa vie que réussir dans la vie".
réussir dans la vie =>to attain social and economic success appreciated  by  others
réussir sa vie=> to do what makes you happy

Gérard I agree that it is our life purpose to find out where we fit in, in other words where we belong to, what we have to do in life.  Anyway do we have to remain stuck for ever in the same place or do we have to change all the time? We also know that "A rolling stone gathers no moss"

For me it is difficult to move away from Calais, but I can find new challenges (small challenges included)
