The word "diet" is ambiguous... OK for better food habits but not for limiting food or others.

Because surprisingly (English is often more precise than French, more words in English), "diet" has several meanings and the context usually permits to better understand:
- (food habits), Fr alimentation, nourriture, régime alimentaire
- (limiting food) Fr régime (tout court)
- Fr cure
- Fr diète
- (verb) Fr être au régime
