We met from 10am to noon at the Calais library 16rPont Lottin, we were 10 people (the maximum number allowed for Covid reasons). The discussion was about :
1) for the poem "If" by Rudyard Kipling: the traditional education that the young Rudyard received in elite boarding schools, vs the more hands-on/loving education I decided to give to his children: pros and cons, how the system evolved nowadays.
2) for the biography of the Murray Scottish clan by George Murray: the main historical events that the clan was involved in, and the surviving form of the original clan as a Society.
The next meeting in on Saturday, the 16th of November, same time same address, and will focus on "In Flanders Fields" by the Canadian poet John McCrae, and we will probably discuss about WWI and II.
