Carrying arms in the United States
During our video conference in Spanish, we talked about the origins of authorising the carrying of weapons in the United States with our Californian friend. He told us that in the 18th century, the British Empire was one of the world's greatest powers, and its economic strength was based largely on the firearms trade. In the United States, it was during colonisation that this trade developed.
Wanting to be ready for battle, the people of the United States never wanted to give up their guns. But it was on 15 December 1791 that the carrying of arms was officially authorised. The second amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America states: "A well-organised militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”To put it more simply, this text guarantees that all American citizens have the right to legally bear arms.
When there's a shooting in the United States we don't understand why people can't be prevented from having a gun. it's so horrible when all that happens. . And yet guns have always been part of the American landscape, and their free possession is even part of the US Constitution of 1787. According to the Second Amendment, Americans have a constitutional right to bear arms” What can we do about it?
