Regarding retirement, "pension" has the same meaning as in French.

Yes Gérard ! songs are very useful especially for young children. When my grandson learnt English with Gogo https://www.google.fr/search?hl=en&q=gogo&gws_rd=cr,ssl&ei=_YBEWN-4Dcb0aue1mrAL#hl=en&q=gogo+to+learn+english, He kept singing in English all the time ( It was a bit annoying for her sister Sad ). Anyway thanks to those songs, he has improved his language skills and his interest for the English language)

Muriel,
In addition, songs are good for the pronunciation.
Quebeckers lose their accent when they sing.

Gérard thanks for those very useful expressions. I remember what my children's native English teacher used to say to her pupils
Make a line by the door
I thought it was much more concrete than the French translation
