"A bad hair" is when everything goes wrong, Ok but why ? is there something to do with our hair ? Is it a day when our hair seems unmanageable ?

Re: Interesting idioms
MUCH – MANY – A LOT OF – LITTLE – FEW
FLUENTLAND.COM
A word I like is "oodles of" for several reasons:
- it's typically American
- it's informal
- it can be used with countable & uncountable
- an American GF taught me this word and she told me "it's typically Am; use the word with your Am teacher, she will laugh asking you where you heard it" - so, the reason is sentimental
NB: According to my dictionary, "oodles of" is not specifically American.

Re: Interesting idioms
Thanks Gérard for that list. It is a very common conversation with native English speakers "what are our hobbies and interests ?" It is important to note the use of "The" with the musical instruments !

BY – UNTIL
FLUENTLAND.COM
I like this: OK, it depends on the verb so we've to "learn" (I mean repeat and repeat and repeat till there's a music in my head).
However, I'd also like a comparison By-Until/Before because I realize I sometimes make mistakes.
