Continuous Form in Grammar
Hi everyone,
Learning English, you could probably notice the use of continuous form is rather common.
E.g.: I'm going to learn Italian instead of English / je vais apprendre l'Italien au lieu de l'Anglais
E.g.: She has been learning English for 10 years now.
NB: The topic doesn't concern "Learning English..." but the true conjugation of a verb.
When use a present simple like in "I think it'll rain tonight"? When use the present continuous like in "I'm watching TV".
Do you often use a continuous form?

Re: Continuous Form in Grammar
Il think you have to use the present continuous form nearly all the time Only when you want to express the idea that an action is repeated or usual, use the simple present.
I write on the "café polyglotte sur le net" every day. Now I am speaking in English with my friends from the Calais polyglot Café.

Hi Muriel,
Thanks for your answer.
Yes it's correct.
However,
> Only when you want to express the idea that an action is repeated or usual, use the simple present.
I'd have preferred another wording such as "use the simple presentonly when you want to express the idea that an action is repeated or usual" because there are other grammatical ways to express repetition or habit, custom, regularity, steadiness...
Thanks for your answer.
