Hi squeamish05, the videos are mainly designed to be used by students at lower levels for self study so the gaps are to allow reading and processing time. If you're using them in class with a projector or interactive whiteboard, I would use the gaps to give extra information or examples, focus on specific information shown in the movie or to ask short questions to maintain students interest and involvement.
