Note that "plan on doing" (meaning a noun) = Fr"compter faire qqc, s'attendre à"
But plan to do..., plan for smth (Fr prévoir).
To plan is also transitive with the meanings planifier, organiser, préparer, préméditer, concevoir, construire qqc,
