Taking things for granite, and the 'I could care less' one are big irritants for my inner grammar Nazi. But 'nip it in the butt' and 'escape goat' are too funny to get mad at... honestly. I find this excellent.
As you know -as a Canadian- the French cannot hear the subtle differences in English words (Americans have oodles of sounds around each vowel that the French cannot even catch so that they don't pronounce properly or mix-up words).
Here we can see that EMTs are also fooled.

This message was posted by my nephrew who celebreated his birth... birthweek: yes week. Everything was organized by his wife, 3 children, brothers, nieces, nephews, father, etc
He didn't know anything about the day to come: one week in several locations of Africa and Europe and he got a surprise every single day (every child who usually lives at thousands of kilometers came to kiss him, Friends he hadn't seen for 40 years visited him, a cruise on the Mediterranean sea, etc.

I post it to point out the word "helping" which means "portion (Fr)"; a synonym is "serving".
