Thanks Gérard for your funny idioms. here's a one I find very suggestive, far more than its French counterpart.
Like a cat on hot bricks=>Restless or skittish, unable to remain still

Hi Muriel,

There are categories, examples but not many explanations.

Did you understand what "De-verb suffixes / De-adjectival suffixes" mean?
I didn't understand why they spoke about "Verb suffixes" when it's not a suffix but just an ending - to me, a suffix is something that is added to an existing particle.

KEEP SOMEONE ON A SHORT LEASH: maintain strict control over someone. Also "tight leash." Primarily North American—British English uses "lead" for a dog leash. Boston Herald: <<While Garner and Affleck may be the only ones who know the whole truth, one thing seems certain: Garner's trust had been broken. First she tried to solve the marital problems with a mix of couples therapy (over the years, they would go up to twice a week, says a source) and careful supervision. When Affleck was filming, "she would make plans for him to come home most weekends," says the pal. "She kept him on a short leash as much as possible to make sure he stayed in a good place. He needed that.">>

Yang Dong Geun to welcome another bundle of joy into his family!

Yang Dong Geun, who is already busy being a doting father and husband and his side jobs of acting and rapping, is about to become busier with another joyful addition to his family!
His agency, Polaris Entertainment, told My Daily earlier today, "It's true that Yang Dong Geun's wife is pregnant with her second child. It's been seven months." The label added, "She's expecting to give birth this coming October. [Yang Dong Geun] is focusing his all on prenatal education with his wife.">>

GROUND GAME: local organizing, especially political. This idiom is North American and comes from American and Canadian football, where the ground game refers to carrying the ball rather than passing it in the air. Saskatoon Star-Phoenix: <<Successful campaigns work on two principles: ID, which means "identify the vote" and GOTV for "get out the vote" - all of which takes the best ground game, which the Tories have fielded in 13 of the province's seats.
The ground game is built on dozens of relentless and committed volunteers working as phone canvassers, door knockers, sign crews, digital media teams, fundraisers, and, most importantly, getting the candidate close to the greatest pool of winnable votes.
Those who mistakenly believe that election campaigning is Facebook, Instagram or Twitter will have plenty of time after the election when they've lost.>>
