Remember they are trained to speak in front of the class and to convince people.
So these expressions are very useful to them.
We, French, say Americans are arrogant
(Americans say the French are arrogant),
this is mainly due to such expressions.
Of course Am don"t agree with us
for they are used to say such strong words.
