afternoon guys and gals have a rockin sunday

Tis was posted on Facebook.
If I post it here, it's to show "gals" which is another spelling for "girls" (the pronunciation of girl often sounds like "gal").

My dictionary says "gal" is old... but I don't agree.

I also would like to say that gals mean girls thru a wide range of age, from baby-girls to women.
I also want to say "guys" can be used for a group of boys and girls; yes, here there's a pre-eminence of the masculine over the feminine, unusual hey?

A few days ago -I don't remember where- I wrote about the "gl-" series of words which are related to sight or eyes.

Now, I'm going to do the sme for the "sn-" series of words related to nose and throat:
- sneeze
- sniff
- sniffle
- snitch
- snivel
- snoop
- snore
- snorkel
- snort
- snot
- snout
- snuff
- snuffle

Muriel, I didn't say "all of the words".

I often write it without being able to prove it (as I don't remember the details) but I remember my German classes and out teacher who pointed out several examples.
I guess a German speaker can assert it.

Eddie Cochran Weekend

Today it's Facebook, Twitter, emails....but in 1958 Eddie did it with typewritten letters to a fans. Here is one to a fan in KY....with his usual note "Don't Forget Me".
It's coming soon!! Eddie Cochran Weekend June 9, 10, 11th in Albert Lea, MN.
FRIDAY CRUISE-IN at Green Mill and Country Inn and Suites with 12 awards that evening.
SATURDAY
80 AWARDS in all during the car show on Saturday followed by car cruise. Awards will include TOP 50, TOP 10(by spectators), 4 special awards, TOP 3 FLATHEAD Engines, TOP 3 BEST FINS, TOP 10 OLD SCHOOL (pre-55).
Dash plaque, goodie bag and shop towel (towel courtesy of Jensales) to first 200 car show entrants. $10 registration. Free to spectators.
FREE CONCERT by the Whitesidewalls will be in that spot at 7:30pm Saturday 6/10. They're a fantastic group that's great fun for the whole family!!
SUNDAY enjoy a PANCAKE breakfast in the Fairlane Building at Freeborn County Fairground and the Rock & Roll service Sunday at the Methodist Church.
