Re: Jennifer Saunders Fan Club
What I forgot to say about Norma is that her company teaches staffs of corporations only (except for me).gerardM a écrit:...
I got several native teachers and they were wonderful experiences and improvements, especially with Norma who gave me individual lessons in American for years; she headed her own language company and was the official subcontractor of big French companies such as IMERYS, VINCI, etc. even with intensive 2-week-teaching.
Norma was born in Boston, US from an Italian father... she meets oodles of difficulties to learn Italian; after decades in Paris, her French is still not perfect. I write this to explain that she knows what learning a foreign language is.
Teaching corporate staffs means that Norma has to evaluate her students, advise and sign contracts regarding the progress she aims for each student on the semester to come.
Norma is not a common teacher in an ordinary school but her outcomes are continuously evaluated by her clients; for each lesson, she plays with her reputation and the future of her company.
Norma is a friend of mine: I got successful results at my exams and several gifts from her.

A father and his small son were out walking one after-noon when the youngster asked how the electricity went through the wires stretched between the telephone poles.
"Don't know," said the father. "Never knew much about electricity." A few blocks farther on the boy asked what caused lightning and thunder.
"To tell the truth," said the father, "I never exactly understood that myself."
The boy continued to ask questions throughout the walk, none of which the father could explain. Finally, as they were nearing home, the boy asked,
"Dad, I hope you don't mind my asking so many questions..."
"Of course not", replied the father. "How else are you going to learn?"

Re: Jennifer Saunders Fan Club
A group of senior citizens were exchanging notes about their ailments.
"My arm is so weak I can hardly hold this coffee cup."
"Yes, I know. My cataracts are so bad I can't see to pour the coffee."
"I can't turn my head because of the arthritis in my neck."
"My blood pressure pills make my dizzy."
"I guess that's the price we pay for getting old."
"Well, it's not all bad. We should be thankful that we can still drive."

A little old lady was walking down the street dragging two large plastic garbage bags behind her. One of the bags was ripped and every once in a while a $20 fell out onto the sidewalk.
The policeman noticed this and stopped her, and said, "Madam, there are $20 bills falling out of that bag."
"Oh, really? Darn it!" said the little old lady. "I'd better go back and see if I can find them. Thanks for telling me officer."
"Well, now, not so fast," said the cop. Where did you get all that money? You didn't steal it, did you?"
"Oh, no, no", said the old lady. "You see, my back yard is right next to a Golf course. A lot of Golfers come and pee through a knot hole in my fence, right into my flower garden. It used to really tick me off. Kills the flowers, you know. Then I thought, "Why not make the best of it? So, now, I stand behind the fence by the knot hole, real quiet, with my hedge clippers. Every time some guy sticks his thing through my fence, I surprise him, grab hold of it and say, "OK, buddy! Give me $20, or off it comes."
"Well, that seems only fair," said the cop, laughing. "OK. Good luck! Oh, by the way, what's in the other bag?"
"Not everybody pays."

Re: Jennifer Saunders Fan Club
An old blind cowboy wanders into an all-girl biker bar by mistake...
He finds his way to a bar stool and orders a shot of Jack Daniels.
After sitting there for a while, he yells to the bartender, 'Hey, you wanna hear a blonde joke?'
The bar immediately falls absolutely silent.
In a very deep, husky voice, the woman next to him says, 'Before you tell that joke, Cowboy, I think it is only fair, given that you are blind, that you should know five things:
1. The bartender is a blonde girl with a baseball bat.
2. The bouncer is a blonde girl with a 'Billy-Club'.
3. I'm a 6-foot tall, 175-pound blonde woman with a black belt in karate.
4. The woman sitting next to me is blonde and a professional weight lifter.
5. The lady to your right is blonde and a professional wrestler.
'Now, think about it seriously, Cowboy... Do you still wanna tell that blonde joke?'
The blind cowboy thinks for a second, shakes his head and mutters, 'No... not if I'm gonna have to explain it five times.'

Re: Jennifer Saunders Fan Club
A funeral service is being held for a woman who has just passed away. At the end of the service the pall bearers are carrying the casket out when they accidentally bump into a wall, jarring the casket.
They hear a faint moan. They open the casket to find that the woman is actually alive. She lives for ten more years and then dies.
A ceremony is again held at the same church and at the end of the ceremony the pall bearers are again carrying out the casket.
As they are walking the husband yells out:
"WATCH OUT FOR THE WALL!"
