Re: Jennifer Saunders Fan Club -2-
A psychology professor asked his students just one question for their final exams:
"How are you going to make me believe that the chair in front of you is invisible?"
It took all students an hour to finish the answer, except a lazy student who took only 5 seconds.
Eventually, the lazy student got the highest score. His answer was:
"WHICH CHAIR???"
Life is simple. Keep it simple...

Gérard what I like is when the English don't mind being completely ridiculous and don't care being the laughing stock so long the others around them are happy. The French are not like that ! I am not like that either.

You wouldn't be ridiculous if you do a headstand (Fr poirier) inside your home.MurielB a écrit:

Muriel, I guess that the verb to care can't be followed by a gerund (unless used with about: to care about-gerund), it needs an infinitive: "to care to do...".
The web page https://www.engvid.com/english-resource/verbs-followed-by-gerunds-and-infinitives/ provides interesting lists:
- verbs followed by a gerund
- verbs followed by an infinitive
- verbs followed by a gerund or infinitive with little to no change in meaning
- verbs followed by a gerund or infinitive with with a change in meaning

Ok Gérard "don't care about being the laughing stock "sounds so much better. Tx

Re: Jennifer Saunders Fan Club -2-
Two women were playing golf one sunny morning.
The first of the twosome teed off and watched in horror as her ball headed directly towards a foursome of men playing the next hole.
Indeed the ball hit one of the men and he immediately clasped his hands together at his crotch and fell to the ground where he proceeded to roll around in evident agony.
The woman rushed over to the man and began to apologize.
“Please allow me to help. I’m a physical therapist and I know I could relieve your pain if you’d allow me.”
“Ummph, oooh, nooo, I’ll be alright… I’ll be fine in a few minutes,” he replied breathlessly as he remained in the fetal position still clasping his hands together at the crotch.
But she persisted and he finally allowed her to help him.
She gently took his hands away and loosened his pants and put her hands inside. She began to massage him.
She then asked him, “How does that feel now?”
The man replied, “That feels great, but my thumb still hurts like hell.”

No Muriel, you're mistaken.MurielB a écrit:frigging "slang" used as intensifier (foutu)
Don't use this word!
It has oodles of meanings including the most vulgar ones. 2 examples:
-1- used instead of "f*cking" when you're in the presence of someone who must not hear such a word!
-2- masturbation, wank, wanking, etc.
LOL please avoid this word as it's not a simple intensifier

Re: Jennifer Saunders Fan Club -2-
