Common Preposition Collocations in English - ESL Buzz
In English, many nouns, verbs, and adjectives are commonly followed by prepositions.
ESLBUZZ.COM
Let's revise and revise again learning a couple of new words here and there.
If the preposition is not "to", it usually means we've to use a noun or a gerund such as in suffer from a surgery, prevent from making mistakes, suffer from failing another time.
If the preposition is "to", it's ambiguous tho' a "to" sometimes infers an infinitive, such as in lead to trouble, accustomed to riding on Sundays, it tends to be the case.

Australian English usually follows British English... with occasional betrayal when they take after American (very rare).
