Forum | Learn English | 7 Things NOT to Do When Speaking English

I’ve spent the last few years traveling and living abroad, and during that time I’ve talked to a lot of people who spoke English as a foreign language.

1. Don’t Be too Ashamed to Speak
2. Don’t Be Afraid of Making Mistakes
3. Don’t Apologize For Your Level
4. Don’t get frustrated with yourself
5. Don’t take it personally when people don’t understand you
6. Don’t compare yourself to other English Speakers
7. If you are fluent, or just think you are, DON’T GET COCKY (ARROGANT)

Do you know that I sent "Sophie la girafe" to my American friend when she got her first grand child. It doesn't exist in America because over there babies rather use a teething ring;

We cannot use a teething ring before a year; Sophie can be used from 4 months, no?
Do American teethingrings make pouet-pouet??? Very Happy

When I sent to my American friend "Sophie la girafe" it was not popular in America because it was about 10 years ago

Somewhere, right now, a baby is torturing a giraffe: dropping it, chewing it, coating it with a thick layer of drool. Despite this pattern of unprovoked attacks from the nation's infants, the long-necked mammals—rubber teethers that hail from France—are multiplying across the United States. Sophie the Giraffe is the best-selling baby product

Hi Gérard, everyone !
I would like to add that
Adjectives which describe an extreme quality can be modified by absolutely, completely, really and totally but not normally with very. Some common examples are:

amazing

excellent

horrified

awful

exceptional

huge

brilliant

fantastic

perfect

delighted

furious

stunning

essential

horrible

terrible

Her dress was absolutely stunning.

Not: Her dress was very stunning.

That singer is really awful.

Not: That singer is very awful.

It is a really fantastic film.

Not: It is a very fantastic film.
