I find this dodgy, do you?
Why "learned"?
Isn't it the imperative tense?
Is it a typo?
> The exception is will not, which becomes won’t.
Never seen those contractions“didn” or “din”
“shoulda” or “should of”

Hi Muriel,
Some people are also lazzy or want to have their own "style".
“didn” and “din” stand for "didn't"
“shoulda” and “should of” is what people hear for "should have"
We meet this on forums.
NB: We also see horrors on French forums.
English speaking countries don't teach grammar as much as we do in France so that many people write what they hear:MurielB a écrit:Never seen those contractions“didn” or “din”

Does anyone know what the consequence of a typo is?
I don't.

I personally made a mistake, I meant #4 and #5.
For you, is it #1 and 2 or #4 and 5?

Hi Muriel,
> 4. Demons are a ghoul's best friend.
This refers to a song by Marylin Monroe saying "diamonds are a girl's best friend"
The pronunciation is very close and words are changed to fit Halloween:
- "demons" replaces diamonds - you prolly know what a demon is
- "ghoul" replaces girl - "to be a ghoul" means "être macabre"
> 5. I go to bars for the boos.
All I found is that "boo" is the interjection you make to frighten people, or surprise them like after "peekaboo!" (Fr "coucou").
But "booze" is a casual word for alcohol (Fr "bibine", "pinard")... also a series of words of this area (boozed, boozer, booze-up, boozy)..
