7. At what age is it appropriate to tell my dog that he’s adopted?
8. Want to hear a pizza joke…. nah, it’s too cheesy. What about a construction joke? Oh never mind, I’m still working on that one. Did you hear the one about the rope? Skip it. Have you heard the one about the guy in the wheelchair? Never mind, it’s too lame.
9. I used to be in a band, we were called ‘lost dog’. You probably saw our posters.
10. I childproofed the house… but they still get in!

A clear conscience :a knowledge or belief that one has done nothing bad or wrong
To have a clear conscience means "avoir bonne conscience "ou "avoir la conscience tranquille"

Hi Muriel,

MurielB a écrit:Gérard it was like the dog we previously had.
I don't understand Muriel, what was like your dog??  scratch

By the way i am very interested by the phrasal verb
NO Muriel!
"Interested by" is not correct.
I wrote about prepositions a few days ago and I wrote that even though it looked a past participle and a state, the preposition was not always "by" like for a passive form.
Interested IN... interested IN... interested IN...

"Break into"
https://www.macmillandictionary.com/dictionary/british/break-into
I'm a bit upset... not at you but at the dictionary...
What is this bloody dictionary that doesn't even provide the most common meaning? scratch scratch
"Break into" by 80% means to enter by force.

As you know there're oodles of weird websites: good and bad.
Aren't there enough free famous dictionaries? Cambridge, Oxford, Collins, Merriam-Webster... Please, choose a serious one.

Gérard I often use Merriam-Webster which I find very good. This time I wanted to try another one which was not a good idea.  Anyway let's return to the matter at hand. I agree that most of the time it is more idiomatic to use "Interested in" but under certain circumstances "interested by" would be correct. What do you think ?
You might use 'interested by' to refer to something which had caught your attention

As you could read, "interested by" can be used in very rare, very special circumstances...

Also read https://forum.wordreference.com/threads/interested-by-in.3195577/

Natives admit they might use "interested by" but foreigners have to insist much - this "by" doesn't look natural at all.

Let me repeat, it's not the only example where the French must not translate using "by", just thinking of passive voice.

The neighbours thought it was odd, but 93 year old Morton was dating again.
One Monday morning Morton woke up with a funny feeling that something important happened last night.
It was during breakfast that Morton finally remembered what it was.
He had proposed to his date Greta.
But what she answered he just couldn’t seem to remember.
Morton picked up the phone and dialed.
“Hi Greta”, said Morton, “I have a funny question for you, do you remember last night when I proposed?”
“Oh my gosh” gushed Greta, “I’m so glad you called, I knew I said yes to somebody but I just couldn’t recall who it was!”
