I cannot agree with you on the subject.
I agree to your proposals.
He is my authority for my saying so.
Gérard, Here are the prepositions I was happy to revise. I am Ok with the conditional.
- congrats on... your success - "congrats" is somethig we often use when socializing: "on", not "for"
- to agree with someone; regarding the object, there may be several prepositions: with, to, on, about... meanings slightly different.
Par exemple :
- "to agree to something" signifie accepter qqc
- "to agree with something" signifie approuver qqc
Tx Gérard for these very useful precisions ! I totally agree with what you have written

The Difference between MUCH and MANY in English - ESL Buzz
The choice between MUCH and MANY depends on the noun it is describing.
ESLBUZZ.COM
In other words, use many with countable words, much with uncountable words.
There're more uncountable words in English than in French.
In French we usually use a plural with generic words to mean that there may be several kinds eg with "eau" "les eaux de table"); in English some regions accept the plural of water to mean -like in French- several varieties.
We've an equivalent to many/more eg1 "Combien de combattants y avait-il en arrivant au port ?" eg2 "Que de patience tu as avec les enfants !" ; obviously, as it is our mother language we don't even notice.
~~~Edit
Also note the French "Te rends-tu compte combien il fait chaud ?"
As far as I know there's no specific word for Fr "collyre", English language says "eye drops", "eye lotion", or "eyewash"; however, I guess the term "collyrium" does exist from doctors mouths.
